The day begins with a short hike in the National Park, descending into the scenic valley, home to the Tay minority people and encircled by rock formations.

You then drive to a jetty and board a private boat for a cruise on Ba Be Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Vietnam. The cruise will take you through the Nang River and pass rolling hills on which H’Muong and Red Dzao villages are scattered, eventually arriving at Dau Dang Waterfall. The scenery is extraordinary, with rural farmland and rugged mountains jutting out of the tangled jungle growth. Depending on the weather, take a swim in the lake’s pristine waters, or if you’re lucky you might spot monkeys in the jungles surrounding the lake.

After lunch, cruise further to Puong Cave and Pac Ngoi village where more than 40 traditional stilt houses nestled on the mountainside.

We end our day in the park’s headquarters.
