Cassia Cottage is a charming, friendly hotel with a great location on the north end of Long Beach, Phu Quoc’s most popular stretch of sand. The rooms are simply furnished, yet spacious and airy and with connecting rooms aplenty, ideal for families or groups. They do not have televisions or telephone lines – its not that kind of place. Instead they have a nice ambience, with decent toiletries, good showers, effective air con and generous outdoor areas with loungers and a hammock. The public spaces are literally paces from the beach, surrounded by laid back gardens complete with hammocks between the trees. There are multiple swimming pools and a beach side restaurant serving freshly caught fish and produce from the hotel’s own farms. The private beach is pleasant and the sea is always warm – don’t be afraid to buy fresh fruit from the ladies walking the beach, it’s cheap, tasty and very fresh! Staff are friendly and service is excellent.

Despite the simplicity, the villas have various different options. There are new rooms, a big beach house for larger groups and families, as well as very decently sized sea view rooms overlooking the pool and with partial sea views.

Cassia Cottage is within easy reach of a number of beachside restaurants and bars, and the nightlife of Doung Dong is just a 30 minute walk or short cab or bike ride to the north. The night market has a buzzing atmosphere with lots of stalls with plastic seating and more fresh seafood than you can shake a stick at.
