The Golden Central Hotel is close to Ben Thanh market – the bustling epicentre of Saigon. Taking its central location in to consideration, the hotel offers a combination of comfort and value-for-money. The 120 conventionally laid-out rooms are unimaginatively furnished, but benefit from large windows which simply do not feature in any of the other smaller, rather generic hotels on this busy stretch of Ly Tu Trong Street. There is an airy restaurant and bar on the top floor providing panoramic views across the city and this is also where the Golden Central hides another feature which sets it apart from its neighbours – a rooftop pool.

Leave the hotel and turn left and you have the major sights and entertainment district a short 10 minute walk away. Turn right and you are soon in the busy backpacker district, with its obligatory cheap eats and lively nightlife. Stay local and you have Ben Thanh market to explore and its attendant street-food delights.
